In lieu of the ability to edit the .htaccess file a much simpler solution is available to those who have written their own streaming/pseudo-streaming script.

The AS2.0 FLVPlayback object will accept the following url:
video.php?id=blah&format=.flv

Not sure if this is true of later versions, but at least the one I’m using appears to merely check for the url ending of “.flv”, which is satisfied by this trailing parameter.

Anyone have a copy of this working? I have tried a bunch of different curl options and ways of getting the videos but now it seems youtube has added a layer to block outside requests. It adds some new variables to the FLV request and changes the IP for example 200.0.0.0 (blocked) but works fine when its 0.0.0.0 – note in the page sources twice.

Would love to get this back working its really a smooth way to watch youtube vids.

I am getting the following error on the example app you posted:

GoogleWeatherService Error: Error #1085: The element type “meta” must be terminated by the matching end-tag “”.

I guess it is a little bug.

I’m making a Kitchen Calculator, so these will help with some of the conversions. I’ll just add the others along side of yours.

BTW, you might want to look into the SyntaxHighlighter Evolved plugin for WordPress. It has better tools for copying the code to the clipboard.

Unfortunately not, google is using the wunderground API for the iGoogle weather forecast.

They indeed have a more advanced weather forecast.

For more information check out http://www.wunderground.com/
They also have a data feed similar to the google one.
In fact, I have a hunch that google is using this feed (or a non public API) in their own implementation for google weather.
For more information on this feed, checkout their wiki http://wiki.wunderground.com/index.php/API_-_XML

Another option for a more extended forecast you can find on http://www.weather.com/services/, under weather xml data feed.
However, a couple of developers already pointed out to me that they prefer the google API over the one from Weather.com, because the google data can be retreived faster.

Personally, if I was on a project now that needed weather data, I would definitely go for the wunderground one.
